REQUIREMENTS
 

A valid Passport

A copy of the information pages of your passport is needed. Make sure your passport is current and does not expire within 6 months of your travel date.

 

Professional experience ​

​If you are a professional, we require your professional license or academic degree.

Student ID card 

If you are a student, we require your student ID. When presenting this ID,  you could be able to obtain student discounts at museums, churches, etc.

​

Your resume

We need this information to cater every immersion program to each participant based on their Spanish proficiency, professional experience and level of education in addition to their areas of interest. 

​

Passport size photo

We need a good quality picture for your badge. 

​

Travel Insurance

Medical and travel insurance is mandatory and a copy must be provided.  It is always recommended that you have travel insurance covering your health and possessions.  

Check with your college/employer as you may already have coverage through your current insurance plan or even a bank account.  

 

Proof of vaccinations

The vaccines required for Arequipa are Hepatitis (A and B), seasonal flu shot.

Malaria, Rabies, Typhoid and Yellow Fever are recommended for those travelling to other parts of Peru or South America.  Please contact your own doctor to confirm the vaccinations required for your trip.

Below is just a general checklist, and is by no means exhaustive.

For your stay in Arequipa city:

​

  • Valid Passport

  • Student ID for possible discounts

  • Professional/dressy clothing for clinic placements
    This can includes scrubs, white coat, dress pants, dress shirt or appropriate length skirts for females.

  • Small bag or suitcase for trips

  • Sweater/Jacket for cold nights in Arequipa (74°F / 47°F)

  • Medication kit

  • Sunscreen

  • Hat

  • Water bottle 

  • English/Spanish Dictionary

  • Goodwill articles: Stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, gloves, sutures, masks, medical textbooks, old cameras, old smartphones, warm clothes, etc

For your experiential tourism to the Colca Canyon:

The Colca Canyon´s temperature could fluctuate between 65ºF to 17ºF in winter time.

For participants travelling to Cusco, Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu:

Temperature in Cusco could fluctuate between 65ºF to 27ºF, Sacred Valley between 63ºF to 34ºF, Machu Picchu between 74ºF to 45ºF and in Aguas Calientes between 77ºF to 52ºF.​​
